Awwww nuts!

We've been curious for about a year whether Sophia has an allergy to a non-peanut nut. She had a reaction to a crunchy salad topper shortly after Sasha was born, but we were never able to narrow it down to a specific culprit since there were various nuts and oils in the mix. Well, yesterday the nut allergy was confirmed when she had an allergic reaction almost immediately after sharing some mixed nuts with me. I think she ate part of a cashew, but because there are so many other nuts in the mix, we have no way of knowing which one(s) actually caused it. Sophia told me her mouth hurt, and her voice started to get scratchy. She broke out in hives on her face, and then she threw up. I was able to give her some Benadryl, which I think helped alot. She was sick two more times in the next hour, but after that she was running around and provoking her little sis. Business as usual.

Needless to say, we'll be avoiding all nuts (other than peanuts, which are fine) and talking to our doctor about our options for dealing with the allergy.
